Within 24 hours of the last of three preseason games, the Atlanta Falcons made the first step in building their final 53-member team roster by cutting several talents that were bidding for a place on that roster.
They are…
Matthew Cindric offensive lineman
Ben DiNucci quarterback
Elijah Dotson running back
Morgan Fox defensive lineman
Lamar Jackson cornerback
Caleb Johnson inside linebacker
Nikola Kalinic tight end
Nick Kubitz inside linebacker
Jesse Matthews wide receiver
Ronnie Perkins edge rusher
Quincy Skinner Jr. wide receiver
Josh Thompson safety
In addition to those cut, Jake Hanson, offensive lineman, was placed on injured reserve. He will be out for the entire regular season. He suffered an unknown injury in the fourth quarter of the Falcons vs. Dallas game.
The Falcons now have 77 active players on the team. 24 more must go by 4 p.m. Tuesday, when the 53 man roster will be finalized.
