Falcons reportedly sign new tackler from Seahawks
Aug 26, 2025
The Falcons will be missing a key part of their offense this season.
The team announced today that right tackle Kaleb McGary, who was to be responsible for guarding Michael Penix Jr.’s right side, will miss the season due to an injury to his leg during the last day of training camp practice.
McGary is on the team’s injured reserve list, without a designation to return.
The Falcons now have a big problem to fix on offense because, in addition to McGary’s absence, Storm Norton, another tackler, is out for 6 to 8 weeks. They will need to find a new starting right tackle before their September 7 home opening day meeting with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
They may have found that solution. It was reported that the Dirty Birds traded a conditional seventh-round 2027 draft pick to the Seattle Seahawks for offensive lineman Michael Jerrell. His one experience in the NFL was against the Falcons in October last year.
The Falcons have not yet confirmed the Jerrell transaction.
