Falcons defense, offense coaches talk strategy, Bijan gets big honor.
Press Conference
- Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich says the team’s defensive success is a testament to the players they have on the roster. “We deal with so many players who are selfish and self-promoters, and we don’t have any of that here.” He says the Falcons have the best corner squad in the NFL.
- CB Billy Bowman Jr. was injured on Friday (see injury report below), but Dee Alford prepared for Monday’s game with only a Sunday walk-through. Ulbrich complemented Alford’s versatility and drive.
- Ulbrich says the Falcons “finally understand collectively what it takes to play the level of football we want to play.”
- The Falcons have their work cut out for them facing the 49er RB Christian McCaffrey on Sunday. Says it will be “a great challenge for everybody,” and the team will need to play their best to keep up with him.
- DT David Onyemata: “He’s the ambassador of Fist. You try to block him with one human being, and you’re going to lose.”
- OC Zac Robinson says the Falcons need to keep RB Bijan Robinson fresh for the duration of the season, although they would also like to keep him active as well.
- Darnell Mooney: Hoping to get him back soon, says Robinson.

Bijan honor: To the surprise of no one, RB Bijan Robinson has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week. He amassed a 238 scrimmage yard career best, along with an 81-yard rushing touchdown on Monday night vs the Buffalo Bills. No one else came close. Congrats, Bijan!
More Bijan: Coincdently, the Falcons are launching a feature presentation at 6 pm Thursday called “Art Of The Juke”, about a running technique used by Robinson to beat defenders. The feature is produced by Falcons senior reporter Tori McElhaney and content producer Jenny Ross. It will likely be presented on atlantafalcons.com and YouTube.
