Atlanta Hawks (With Killer Mike’s Help) Announce Regular Schedule

The Atlanta Hawks announced their 2023-24 regular season schedule earlier today.

The first home game for the Hawks will be on October 27 against the New York Knicks. The first game of the season will be played on the road, against the Charlotte Hornets on October 25th.

The 82-game schedule includes 40 away games, including one that will be played in Mexico City on November 9th against the Orlando Magic. The earliest game time comes at the very last of the regular season schedule, April 14, 2024, at 1 PM in Indiana. The latest is the 8:30 tip time at the Mexico City game. The Hawks play NBA 2023 champion Denver Nuggets twice: December 11th at home, and at Denver on April 6, 2024. Hawks fans have one chance to see L.A. Lakers Lebron James at State Farm Arena, on January 30th.

The Hawks didn’t just send out a tweet or a press release to announce the new season schedule. They recruited local hip-hop star/entrepreneur Killer Mike to introduce the new season to fans. A special promotional video was filmed featuring the rapper, who also took part in a Q&A session with the Hawks.

Killer Mike owns the SWAG Shop, a barber shop located inside the State Farm Arena, and has new music called “Michael.” (His real name is Michael Render.) The Grammy-winning artist was happy to do his part to get fans excited about the upcoming season of Hawks basketball.

“I’m overjoyed with joy, and I feel like I’m behind the team,” said Killer Mike in a statement. “Atlanta’s been slept on for too long, and it’s time to shake things up and wake up the Eastern Conference and the entire NBA.”

Adds Hawks’ EVP and Chief Marketing Officer Melissa Proctor, “We were honored to be able to team up with Atlanta icon Killer Mike on this season’s schedule release video. Killer Mike is a part of the Hawks family. His impact, his music, and his words continue to be heard by a global audience, and we’re glad to partner with him and amplify his phenomenal new album ‘Michael’ with our schedule release. ”

As for media coverage of the games, most of the games will be seen locally on Ballys Sports South. 8 games will be on NBA TV, ESPN will air 3 games and TNT will air 2 games. The radio coverage will be provided by WZGC, 929 The Game.

Hawks fans won’t have to wait for the October 25th opening season game to take in Hawks basketball. The preseason games start October 10th against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Killer Mike seems ready for the new season to get started, and wants fans to get excited about the Hawks as he is.

“We got shooters, we got defenders-what we not this season, it’s pretenders. We want rings and things and Magic City and Blue Flame still got the best wings. I look forward to seeing y’all this season!”
