Here’s the day’s developments at Flowery Branch, as the Atlanta Falcons move closer to the start of their 2025 season.
- Offensive tackles Ryan Hayes and Carter Warren have been added to the practice squad, leaving only one space left.
- Edge rusher Bralen Trice is now on IR, due to a recurring knee injury. He could return to the full roster later this season, possibly as soon as after the bye week.
- Safety Jordan Fuller has been signed to the 53-man roster, which is now fully stocked as Fuller replaces IR-bound Bralen Trice.
- Offensive linemen Elijah Wilkinson, Brandon Parker and Jack Nelson are competing for the starting right tackle position for Week 1.
- Coach Raheem Morris says Matthew Bergeron could be shifted to right tackle. “He’s definitely one of those guys we considered doing that.”
- Why keep five defensive tackles on the roster? “That wasn’t the tough decision. The tougher decision was which five do you want to keep,” he said.
- WR Jamal Angew will be the primary returner on special teams.
- Billy Bowman Jr. will be starting nickel, Xavier Watts is the starting safety.
- In a positive development for the Falcons, WR Darnell Mooney joined the team’s practice today, doing position drills, but did not run routes. Teammate Drake London was asked whether he thought Mooney was ready to play. His answer: “To me, he does. But that’s not up to me. If it was up to me, I’d put him out there right now. My boy is looking great.”
- London was asked whether he could give right tackle duties a shot. “You think I’m going to block James Pearce? Nah, I’m good,” he said.
