The Atlanta Braves announced this morning they have acquired left-handed pitcher Brad Hand from the Colorado Rockies.
This move came a few hours before the 6:00 pm trade deadline set by Major League Baseball. The deadline set off a myriad of deals among teams including the trade of the New York Mets pitcher Justin Verlander to the Houston Astros and the Baltimore Orioles landing Jack Flaherty.

In Hand, the Braves are getting a pitcher with a 4.54 ERA, 18 ER, and 35.2 IP. For the Rockies, he made 40 relief appearances. In his career, he’s played 559 games and went 38-53 with a 3.80 ERA, 307 ER, and 754.0 IP.
He started with the Florida Marins in 2011.
The Braves will send Alec Barger to the Rockies in a swap for Hand. Barger is a right-handed minor-league pitcher.
