The Falcons have added six more assistants to incoming head coach Raheem Morris’s staff. All of these hires are new to the Falcons’ staff.
Justin Hood – originally a defensive quality control coach for the Green Bay Packers. He also worked as Kent State’s secondary coach and defensive pass-game coordinator.
John Timu – formerly an assistant defensive line coach with the L. A. Chargers. Was previously with the Chicago Bears (2015-17) and the University of Washington (2019-20).
Lance Schulters – This defensive assistant will be another new hire for the Falcons. This is his first coaching assignment. Was a special teams intern for the L.A. Rams.
Tim Berebenich – He will be the pass-game specialist/game management person for the Falcons. He was an L.A. Rams coaching analyst. Also worked with the Las Vegas Raiders as running backs coach in 2021, then the Houston Texans as tight end coach, then to Tampa Bay where he worked with Morris.
K. J. Black – This new hire comes from the L. A. Rams as well, where he was an offensive assistant. He will fill the same role here in Atlanta. The former college quarterback at Western Kentucky University and Prairie View A&M also worked professionally at Florida A&M University and Prairie View.
Ken Zampese – He joins the Falcons staff as senior offensive assistant. He was a senior offensive advisor/ game manager with the Washington Commanders. He also worked with the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers where he served various offensive roles. His father is Ernie Zampese, a well-known NFL coach who coached teams like the San Diego Chargers, L.A. Rams, and Dallas Cowboys for 36 years.
