Falcons Bring Local Hip Hop Vibe to Benz With Pre-Game Show

Yo! Atlanta Falcons Raps!

Well, not the team exactly, but they will be honoring Atlanta’s homegrown hip-hop community at the Falcons vs. Saints game this Sunday.

The Atlanta Falcons’ 50 Years of Hip Hop coincides with the worldwide celebration of fifty years of hip-hop music, from the underground to mainstream pop success. And Atlanta is one of the cities that help put hip-hop on the map. The pregame show before the home game at Mercedes Benz Stadium will be celebrating the A-Town talent that made the city the rap capital of the South.

“We are extremely excited to celebrate this milestone and invite fans and the entire Atlanta community to join us,” said Tameka Rish, SVP of fan and associate experience at AMB Sports and Entertainment, the owner of the Falcons, in a statement “Our ongoing collaboration with artists like Jeezy, 2 Chainz, Quavo, Pastor Troy and the broader hip-hop community remains a top priority, as it embodies our profound dedication to the culture of Atlanta and our commitment to unity.”

The artists slated to appear are a who’s who of local Atlanta hip hop’s finest: Jermaine Dupri, CeeLo Green, Big Boi from Outkast, Ludacris, T.I., Jeezy, and Ouavo. Other artists that will be honored pregame include Big Tigger, Bonecrusher, Bow Wow, Da Brat, Goodie Mob, Killer Mike, Pastor Troy, and Lil Scrappy.

In addition to the artists in attendance, the creative team for the Falcons designed a limited edition “Item of the Game,” which reflects “hip-hop’s vibrant style.” This will be available for fans to purchase at the team store this Sunday.

The Falcons have created an immersive 360 hip-hop experience for fans as well, partnering with DL Warfield, an artist and creative director, to showcase specially designed visuals detailing Atlanta’s rap legacy. The visuals will be on the halo board above the stadium and across the stadium itself.

The artists will be featured at a pre-game show starting at 12:30 pm. Fans are strongly encouraged to come early to participate in the festivities.
