Kaleb McGary injured in practice; Storm Norton out for several weeks.

The Falcons’ hopes for an injury-free preseason ended at this morning’s practices at Flowery Branch, when Kaleb McGary, a key member of the team’s potent offensive line, was carted off the field with what was reported as a leg injury.
McGary was taken for an MRI, the outcome of which has not been reported as of this writing.
Elijah Wilkinson took over for him for the rest of the practice.
After that, it was learned that Storm Norton, another tackle, had ankle surgery and would be out of action for 6 to 8 weeks, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter.
This double shot of bad news for the Falcons’ offense leaves big decisions to be made with the last of three preseason games this Friday and the start of a new regular season forthcoming. There are now two glaring holes that need to be filled. Both were being counted on to protect QB Michael Penix Jr.’s blind side.
McGary signed a 2-year, $30 million contract extension with the Falcons earlier this month.
Besides Wilkinson, Brandon Parker and Jack Nelson are the other tackles on the Falcons roster.
