The Atlanta Falcons continue to beef up their defensive lineup with another signing.
Today’s signing is linebacker Frank Ginda, who was this year’s United States Football League defensive player of the year when he was playing for the Michigan Panthers.
He has had a short tenure in the NFL, however. He was drafted to the Arizona Cardinals as a rookie player, but was waived immediately after and never got any time on the field. He then was signed to the Miami Dolphins, appearing in four preseason games. He produced 12 tackles and two stops but got no further there than the practice squad. Ginda also played for the New Orleans Saints in 2019.
Ginda also played for the XFL and AAF.
In other Falcons roster news, Head Coach Arthur Smith confirmed Sunday that Cornell Armstrong, Frank Darby, Mike Hughes, Drew Dalman and Cordarrelle Paterson all have various soft tissue injuries and expected to be out for at least a week.
Late Sunday evening, the Falcons confirmed they are waving LB Mykal Walker, a three-season veteran. Walker has appeared in 49 games for the Falcons, starting 20. He has 187 tackles, 11 interrupted passes and 3 interceptions.
