Atlanta United has a new, city-centric kit on hand for fans this year.
The kit, launched tonight at the team’s “Always Rising Kit Launch” at Pullman Yards, is called the “Resurgens Kit.” It continues the tradition of creating gear that closely identifies with Atlanta and its history. It will be this year’s Community Kit, which is a secondary kit to the team’s traditional red, black, and gold gear worn in matches. They will be worn in the upcoming 2024 and 2025 seasons, according to the team.
The gear’s colors are blue, which the team says is “a nod to the renewal of Atlanta,” and yellow, which represents the “vibrant history and identity” of the city, which never backs down from challenges and is “always chasing the dream.” The kit features the Phoenix, a mythical bird that rises from the ashes that has for generations been a part of the seal of the city.
“We are proud to present the Resurgens Kit to our supporters and the city of Atlanta,” said Garth Lagerway, President and CEO of Atlanta United, in a statement. “Our approach with Community Kits has always been to create something that identifies with the city and reaffirms our connection with the people in it, and we believe The Resurgens Kit is the strongest example of that ambition. The design is uniquely Atlanta, and we’re excited for our players, supporters, and everyone with a connection to the city to wear it with a strong sense of civic pride.”
American Family Insurance and Piedmont Hospital are sponsoring the kits and will be prominently shown on them.
Atlanta United has the kit available on its website and its store at Atlantic Station. Prices range from$79-$135.
Last year’s Atlanta United kits The “404”, spotlighted Atlanta’s hip-hop culture. Those kits remain on sale on the club’s website.
