Atlanta Braves pitcher Max Fried led the charge to defeat the Miami Marlins to kick off the three-game series.
Fried allowed only one run in four hits over the six and a third innings he spent on the mound. He struck out four in this game. His ERA is 3.75.
The Braves bats also helped seal the win. Austin Riley doubled in the first inning, scoring the first run for Atlanta. In the top 5th, Ozzie Albies drove in a run. The Braves got five runs in the seventh, and Marcell Ozuna homered, adding another run. The Braves would beat the Marlins 8-1.
The Braves will go for a series win tomorrow.
