Georgia State Panthers Undefeated After Taking on Carolina

The Georgia State University Panthers football team is undefeated at 4-0!

Let that sink in.

The Panthers, who are only 12 years old and who hadn’t gained much in popularity over the more celebrated and awarded Georgia Bulldogs and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, are making a lot of noise lately in college football.

They are on top of the Sun Belt Conference East with a four game winning streak. James Madison University is the next most successful team.

Last Sunday, the Panthers defeated the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers 30-17. They scored three touchdowns, one in the first quarter by their quarterback Darren Grainger running 8 yards to the end zone. Robert Lewis and Marcus Carrol both took passes to the endzone. Carrol had 150 rushing yards.  GSU went 373 total yards while CCU went 402. GSU gave up a single turnover.

The Panthers previously played and defeated Charlotte (41-25), Conneticutt (35-14) and Rhode Island (42-35). They will play Troy University Trojans Satuday October 30th.
