The Atlanta Hawks snapped a five-game losing streak with a dominant performance over the Toronto Raptors, 125 – 104.
Trae Young was the most outstanding of the Hawks, scoring 38 points and 11 assists. Clint Capella had 15 rebounds on the night. The Hawks had a solid lead over the Raptors from the start of the 2nd quarter, throughout the game. Their lead peaked at 24 just before the final buzzer.
Although the Hawks faired slightly below the Raptors in total shooting (51.5% to 51.9%), they faired better in three-pointers, 39% to 32%.
“Defensively I thought we played one of our best games tonight, said Hawks coach Quin Snyder, after the game. “Our guys were really focused on the game plan and the things to do to help each other.”
After Young’s 38 points, Dejounte Murray was the second-biggest scorer for the Hawks with 17 points.
The Hawks are now 10-14 for the season. They play the Cavs tonight.
