Parker Romo, the team’s new kicker, will start Sunday night
Sep 13, 2025
The Falcons announced today that Younghoe Koo, the team’s kicker who, until last season, was a nearly automatic clutch kicker when the team needed it, won’t be doing the kicking for the team tomorrow night.
In fact, he won’t even be in Minnesota.
Koo was ruled out of Sunday night’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. Parker Romo, the new kicker just signed to the team this week, has been elevated to the game-day roster. The reason for the downgrade was not due to an injury. Koo has been struggling as of late with his kicks, culminating in a wide right miss last Sunday that sealed a season-opening loss to the Tampa Bay Bucs.
Koo did not travel with the team.
Romo, ironically, was a former Viking (same as backup QB Kirk Cousins). He played four games for the Vikings and went 11 of 12 in total FG attempts and 7 of 8 in extra point attempts.
In other Falcons personnel news, safety Jordan Fuller was placed on injured reserve, while wide receiver David Sills V was added to the main roster. Sills was formerly with the Los Angeles Rams (2020-23) and the Carolina Panthers (2024).
