Sale, Ozuna, and Lopez To Represent Braves In All Star Game

Three members of the Atlanta Braves will be a part of this year’s All-Star Game.

The Braves will be sending Chris Sale, Marcell Ozuna, and Reynaldo Lopez to Arlington, Texas to join other selected players in the annual baseball classic.

This is old hat for two of the three All-Star-bound Braves. Ozuna has been a selection two previous times. This will be Sale’s eighth appearance. This will be López’s first All-Star game. This is the first time for all three as Braves.

Sale told the press today after the Braves 6-0 win over the Phillies, that Lopez deserves to play in the All-Stars.

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but he is the best pitcher in the league right now,” Sale said. “You look at what he has done from start to finish, he’s the guy.”

Braves Manager Brian Snitker said he was proud to tell the trio they are going to Arlington this year.

“One of my favorite days of the year is when I get to hand out All-Star invitations,” Snitker said. “It is special. Going to an All-Star game is an honor.”

Last year, Ronald Acuña Jr. , Orlando Arcia, Sean Murphy, Spencer Strider, Bryce Elder, Matt Olson , Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley all represented the Braves in last year’s All-Star Game.
