Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets dominated the 2 -7 Virginia Cavaliers in their own Scott Stadium Saturday.
The Jackets handily beat the Cavaliers 42 to 17 with three touchdowns in the second quarter. One of those three was a 34-yard run to the endzone by Tech quarterback Hayes King. King would run a shorter route to his second rushing TD of the day, 2 yards. Tech would score six total TDs in this game.
There were two other key Tech rushing touchdowns of note. Jamal Hayes went 43 yards to the endzone in the 4th quarter (he got 119 total yards of 17 carries. He has one TD). Earlier in the 2nd quarter, Dantae Smith went 33 yards to score.
King went 23 of 30 pass attempts, for 208 yards and 2 touchdowns. Virgina’s QB Anthony Colandrea went 21 of 37, for 200 yards and 2 TDs. He threw one interception.
Tech’s Eric Singleton Jr. got 80 yards off five receptions. He is credited with one TD.
The Jackets are now 5-4. They will face the 5-4 Clemson Tigers next week.
