Atlanta Dream Coach Wright Heading To Paris Olympics To Scout For Team USA

The Atlanta Dream announced that their head coach, Tanisha Wright, will serve as a scout for the 2024 USA Baketball Women’s National Team.

She will be heading to the Paris 2024 Summer Olympic Games to join Curt Miller, head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks, to scout for the national team. Others in the team’s scouting staff include USA Women’s Basketball head coach Cheryl Reeve, and assistant coaches Kara Lawson, Joni Taylor and Mike Thibault.

Wright is the first Atlanta Dream head coach to represent USA Basketball since Marynell Meadows, the team’s first coach, did it in the 2012 London games.

“This is something as an athlete and now a coach you dream of your entire career,” said Wright in a statement.  “I’m excited to go and learn from some of the best athletes and coaches in the world and represent my country at the highest level.”

Wright was a court coach for the Women’s National Team in the 2024 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp, where they scored a 3-0 record in last February’s tournament.
