The injury-plagued Atlanta Braves announced many corresponding changes in response to recent starting player absences caused by injuries.
They confirmed this morning they are calling up infielder Nacho Alvarez Jr. to the main roster and placed infielder Ozzie Albies on the 10-day injured list due to his fractured left wrist.
Additionally, the club today signed infielder Whit Merrifield to a major league contract after optioning outfielder Eli White to Triple-A Gwinnett following yesterday’s game.
To make room on the 40-man roster for these changes, the Braves designated outfielder Forrest Wall for assignment.
