The team announced that it picked up its fifth-year contract option on the tight end, which is good through the 2025 season. It has a guaranteed salary of $10.878 million.

Pitts has been with the Falcons since 2022. In that inaugural season, he had 68 receptions for 1,026 yards and a single touchdown. His season ended prematurely thanks to an injured MCL on week 11. The following season, he had only 53 passes for 667 yards. He had three touchdowns.

Pitts will be one of many offensive weapons for incoming starting Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins (and possibly incoming just-drafted quarterback Michael Penix Jr.) next season.
