Georgia Second Place in First CFB Playoff Rankings, Ohio State Leads

The College Football Playoffs selection committee has released its first top 25 rankings list of the 2023 CFB season.

Georgia sits at number two, behind Ohio State.

Although some may be surprised that the Bulldogs aren’t number one, the second-place ranking does ensure a playoff berth for the Dawgs as long as their winning streak continues. Georgia’s final placement will be revealed on December 3rd when the selection committee meets to set up which teams will face each other in the playoffs.

  6. Oregon
  7. Texas
  8. Alabama
  9. Ohio University
  10. Ole Miss
  11. Penn State
  12. Missouri (the Dawgs face this team on Saturday)
  13. Louisville
  14. LSU
  15. Notre Dame
  16. Oregon State
  17. Tennessee
  18. Utah
  19. UCLA
  20. Southern California
  21. Kansas
  22. Oklahoma State
  23. Kansas State
  24. Tulane
  25. Air Force

The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) will release six weekly playoff rankings from this week until December 3, which will be the official selection day to determine which team faces which.

Future playoff rankings are as follows:

7 PM Tuesday, November 7th

9 PM Tuesday, November 14th*

7 PM Tuesday, November 21st

7 PM Tuesday, November 28th

12 PM Sunday, December 3 (Selection Day)

*Time approximately on this day due to State Farm Champion games.
