The Atlanta Hawks announced today that they have requested waivers on Tyrese Martin, the team’s guard.
This move comes as his $1.7 million salary becomes fully guaranteed, according to NBA sources.
Martin was selected as the 51st overall draft pick in 2022 by the Golden State Warriors. He was then acquired by the Hawks in a draft night trade.
He played in 16 games for the Hawks during the 2022 through 2023 season. That year he averaged 1.3 points in 4.1 minutes per contest. He also played for the Hawks’ NBA G League team, the College Park Skyhawks, where he scored 18.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 33 minutes.
