The Atlanta Hawks will be heading south later this upcoming season. Far south.
The NBA announced that the Hawks will be playing in Mexico City for a special upcoming game.
They will face the Orlando Magic in a regular season game at the Arena CDMX on Thursday, November 9th. The NBA has only played in Mexico 32 times since 1992. For the Hawks, this will be their first game played in Mexico. Orlando has been there four times. The Hawks went to Abu Dhabi last season for a game.
“It is always a privilege to showcase our team, the city of Atlanta, and the NBA in the Global Games,” said Atlanta Hawks CEO Steve Koonin, in a statement. “We had an incredible time last year starting the season in the first NBA Abu Dhabi Games and we are excited to connect with the fans in Mexico City and experience the wonderful culture there.”
For those who can’t make it to Mexico City to see the game live, it will be televised on ESPN, Star +. TUDN and NBA Leauge Pass.
