Atlanta may be back in the running to be a host city for an upcoming Super Bowl.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported Thursday that Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank told Front Office Sports reporter Daniel Kaplan that Mercedes Benz Stadium could be selected to host a future Super Bowl.
“We have our hat in for another Super Bowl [for the 2028 or ’29 game,” Blank was quoted as saying to Kaplan.
There has been no official confirmation from AMBSE, the Falcons and MBS’s parent company, or the NFL on whether the Falcons are in consideration to host a future Super Bowl.
The story says Atlanta is in competition with several other football markets, including Los Angeles, Miami, Arizona and Miami, to host the premiere pro sports championship game.
The last time Atlanta hosted a Super Bowl was LIII, when MBS was a year old. In that game, the New England Patriots beat the L.A. Rams 13-3.
