Thanks to Chris Sale‘s pitching and Travis d’Arnaud‘s hot bat, the Braves put another game in their win collum on Friday.
The Braves defeated the visiting Texas Rangers 8-3. d’Arnaud was responsible for 7 of those runs. He hit a single homer in the bottom of the 2nd, then in the bottom of the 5th, hit a two-run homer, and came back in the bottom of the 6th to hit a grand slam four-run homer. Marcell Ozuna hit a single in the bottom 1st that helped plate a run, and Adolis Garcia hit a double in the top 6th that scored two runs.
Meanwhile, on the mound, winning pitcher Sale got seven strikeouts and gave up three runs in seven innings pitched. His ERA improves to 4.38.
The Braves are now 13-5 and ranking first in the National League East.
The Series against the Rangers continues tomorrow at Truist Park.
