Welcome Back Dansby: Ex-Brave Back After Joining Cubs

Former Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson came back to Atlanta, as a Cub.

A year after joining the Chicago Cubs, it was only a matter of time before the 2021 World Series winner for the Braves would return to Truist Park to play his old team. And today, he made it clear he had no hard feelings towards the Braves, and the Braves and the fans had no hard feelings towards him.

“Nothing but great memories and support from everyone from obviously the people at the top, the guys and [Braves General Manager Alex] Anthopoulos every day, to the fans, they always shown me a lot of love and respect” said Swanson to the press at Truist Field. “When it’s your hometown that you grew up in obviously it means a ton if not a little more.”

Swanson said he had “nothing but love” for his former teammates. He was seen hanging around with his former team mates like Max Fried, Travis D’ Arnauld and Kirby Yates.

D’Arnauld told the press he was “excited to see what the city gives him after everything he did here.”

The Braves displayed a video tribute to Swanson, and during the game, in his first at bat as a Chicago Cub, Swanson was given a standing ovation by the crowd at Truist Field.
