Falcons Add More Offensive Heat With Mooney Signing

Twenty-four hours after landing quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Atlanta Falcons awarded him with more offensive help.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reported this morning that the team is signing former Chicago Bears wide receiver Darnell Mooney to a 3-year, $39 million contract. $26 million is fully guaranteed.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport also reported the deal as well. He stated in a post on Twitter/X that David Mulugheta and AJ Stevens of Athletes First negotiated Mooney’s deal.

With the addition of Mooney, the Falcons offensive line is well fortified. He joins TE Kyle Pitts, WR Drake London, WR Rome Odunze, and RB Bijan Robinson.

The official word from Flowery Branch should come on or after 4 PM Wendesday. The Falcons cannot officially confirm signings until that time due to NFL rules.
