The New York Knicks gave the Atlanta Hawks a hard time in State Farm Arena, with the latter losing 114-116.
The Hawks, who welcomed back Trae Young after a Monday absence (he was welcoming his second child), led the game seven times but never above seven points. The Knicks led roughly 80% of the game, with their lead peaking at 13 in the first and second quarters.

As a team, the Hawks shot 54%, while the Knicks shot 47%. The Knicks’ strength was in three-point shooting, where they were 47.1% over the Hawks 38.7%. The Knicks also lead in points in the paint (50 over ATL’s 42), 2nd chance points (21 over 4), and fastbreak points (14 over 8).
Bogdan Bogdanovic led the Hawks scoring with 28 points, with the Knicks Julius Randle leading his team with 29. The key shot he wasn’t able to make was a three-point shot in the final seconds of the game that missed the basket considerably, which led to a Knicks win.
The Hawks’ in-season tournament continues Friday at State Farm Arena against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Hawks won the first tournament game on Monday, against the Detroit Pistons, 126-120.
