Moving On: Ex Falcons RB Patterson Heads To Steelers

After two years with the Atlanta Falcons, Cordarrelle Patterson is headed north.

NFL insider Adam Schefter reported today that Patterson reached a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ironically, he will be reunited with his former Atlanta Falcons coach, Arthur Smith, who now is offensive coordinator for the Steelers.

All-Pro and Pro Bowl returner Patterson is getting $6 million for his services, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Patterson joins the Steelers at a time when the NFL just made the punt returner’s job even more vital by revamping kickoff play rules.

Patterson joined the Falcons in 2021. As a Falcon, he started 24 games and got 82 receptions for 708 receiving yards. He scored six touchdowns, 1,494 rushing yards, and 14 rushing touchdowns.

In addition to the Falcons, he also played for the Chicago Bears, New England Patriots (where he won a Super Bowl Championship in SB LIII), Oakland Raiders, and the Minnesota Vikings.
