Tom Pelissero, an NFL insider from the NFL Network, reported that Belichick and Falcons owner Arthur Blank met in person recently to discuss the Falcons’ head coaching job, citing sources. He did not indicate in his X post whether this meeting was tonight or any other exact time. Pelissero added in the post that “no deal is imminent,” but there was “mutual interest” between the Falcons and Belichick, and “conversations are ongoing.” This was the first interview for Belichick since his departure from the Patriots, according to Pelissero.

This is the sixth interview confirmed by the Falcons for the head coach position which was vacated last week with the dismissal of Arthur Smith after three consecutive losing seasons. Previously confirmed Falcons head coach interviews are Baltimore Ravens DC Mike MacDonald, Cincinnati Bengals OC Brian Callahan, S.F. 49er DC Steve Wilks, Carolina Panthers DC Ejiro Evero, Ravens assistant head coach Anthony Weaver, and today, Belichick.

Belichick, if selected, will bring a storied coaching carrier to Flowery Branch, which features 24 seasons with the Patriots, 17 division titles, and 6 Super Bowl championships.
