Falcons Shake Up Roster As Training Camp Beckons

The Atlanta Falcons made changes to their roster as members began assembling for training camp.

Defensive lineman Calais Campbell is going on the non-football injury list, the team announced today. It was not specified what issue he was having that caused the NFI designation. He is still on the yet-to-be-chopped 90-man roster and could return to the team when he’s taken off the list.

Caleb Huntley, Falcons running back, is being waved because he failed a physical, which ends his time with the team after originally being on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list last week due to a torn Achilles he was recovering from since last season.

MyCole Pruitt will take over Huntley’s spot on the roster. This is Pruitt’s second time filling in for an injured or departed Falcon. Last year, he had to fill the hole left by an injured Kyle Pitts in the middle of the season.

According to ESPN, B. J. Baylor, running back, was waved from the injured reserve list. This move was not confirmed by the Falcons.

Head coach Arthur Smith is expected to speak to the press tomorrow as Falcons training camp begins.
