Jackets Win Gasparilla Bowl Over UCF 30-17

The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets capped off their season on a winning note, with a 30-17 victory over the UCF Knights.

The first quarter of the Gasparilla Bowl in Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium seemed to indicate the Jackets were in trouble, as they were outscored in that quarter 14-0. But they would sting back in the 2nd quarter, scoring 14 unanswered points. Haynes King ran 5 yards to the endzone for the first GT touchdown in that quarter, and Malik Rutherford took a 41-yard pass from King for the second.

Tech would add a third TD on a Dontae Smith 1-yard run.

The Yellow Jackets finish the 2023 season at 7-6, ranking fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
